I love hounds so much that I occasionally foster for Hounds First Sighthound Rescue. When they brought in a beautiful saluki cross, they weren't told that she was heavily pregnant. As all rescues have to do though, they dealt with it amazingly. As a way to help with funds (puppies are very expensive!), I offered to do a beach shoot.
West Witterings is a beautiful beach, and we had it to ourselves for most of the shoot. I was in heaven; beach, hounds, photography; my perfect day. Here are a few shots from the day.

Three times Trouble
These guys will do anything for a bit of cheese!
I have recently discovered Etsy and am slightly addicted. I have just ordered three super cute collars from this store http://www.etsy.com/shop/CollarTown?ref=l2-shopheader-name - they are coming from Canada though! I'm impatient at the best of times, I already want them yesterday.

Chilly Whippets
I'm currently sat in my office with a massive jumper, looking out at torrential rain.
One of the many things I love about whippets is their laziness. The pooches were with our wonderful walker yesterday so after a brief walk this morning, they are all curled up on the various soft furnishings (why would they use their own beds when there are 'human' beds?)
The change in the weather can only mean one thing. The coats are going to come out. We have tried a few different coats, but last year we bought Chilly Dogs and they have been the best so far. They are hard wearing, easy (no fiddly bits), but importantly for us, it covers their bare little bellies! They also look very, very smart. Boo is a new addition to our family, so we will definitely be getting one for her too.
Chilly Dogs are based in Canada, where they know the meaning of the word 'cold', but we got ours from Doggy BoHo.
Check out the last picture - my husband loves them so much, he jumps for joy (he's going to kill me for that).

Welcome to Whippet Snippets!
Hi there,
Welcome to KJ's Dog Blog / Whippet Snippets. Part of Kerry Jordan Photography, I have created Whippet Snippets to focus mainly on things Whippet related and Whippet photography.
I will also be reviewing products to save you dog owners the trouble of trial and error.
There will be plenty of updates on my own Whippet's antics, but I will also be having guest Whippets & dogs having a go at blogging too.
I will also be reviewing products to save you dog owners the trouble of trial and error.
There will be plenty of updates on my own Whippet's antics, but I will also be having guest Whippets & dogs having a go at blogging too.
So let me makes some introductions.
This is Scout, a pure whippet who we have had since a puppy. Very chilled out, he is happy to have a big walk and then sleep for the rest of the day. He hates rain, really hates it and thinks he's royalty, he doesn't do hard floors without a blanket. Ball obsessed, he retrieves constantly, even if it means launching himself into the sea.
We originally fostered Jasper via Scruples Whippet Rescue. He had a quite a few issues (barking at other dogs, barking when we left, separation anxiety to name a few), so understandably, interest in adopting him wasn't overflowing! He was with us for a quite some time, so we worked on calming him and started to help him with some of the other problems. During that time we came to know an incredibly loving, playful, very smart boy. When someone eventually showed interest, he had become such a part of the family we decided he was going to stay. We have just started agility with him, and boy, does he catch on fast! Jasper is a whippet cross so a little bit 'bigger boned' than our other two.
Say hi to Boo. We adopted Boo about three months ago. She is a rebel, a tom-boy and a character. Loves exploring in the forest and trying to dig rabbit's out of their holes, hates being told to do anything. I adore the little noises she makes when settling down to sleep, and she brings out a real playful side in the boys that lovely to watch.
And last but not least, hi, I'm Kerry! I'm primarily a family & wedding photographer based on the Surrey & Sussex borders near Haslemere. I decided to add a branch to my business because it combines my two passions, photography & Whippets (sorry to my Husband!).
